RESPONSIBILITIES
The Certified Personal Trainer will be responsible for providing one-on-one and couples personalized fitness instruction in person to clients at their home, apartment gym or outside while encouraging them to reach their fitness goals. Responsibilities are as follows:

The Children's Center at Gunstock Mountain Resort has been providing quality snowsports learning experiences for children of all ages in a fun, supportive, and safe environment for 80 years! We are now accepting applications for Children's Center Instructors for the winter season. Successful candidates must be proficient on most Gunstock terrain and surface conditions, with the world-class communication skills that our guests have come to expect.
You'll spend most of your time:
<ul>
<li>Using the PSIA &amp; AASI Teaching Methodology, provide guests with a professional ski or snowboard learning environment that encourages skill development appropriate for the guests’ ability level.</li>
<li>Upon lesson assignment, meet and greet Snowsports guests in a timely and professional manner; ensure students are matched to appropriate skill level and work with supervisors/managers to make appropriate changes when necessary.</li>
<li>Assist students with transporting ski/ride equipment to learning terrain as needed; educate them on proper load/unload procedures for chairlifts and carpet lifts.</li>
<li>Maintain a strong working knowledge of all snowsports programs offered by the Snowsports School and Children's Center, as well as general knowledge of Gunstock’s overall operation.</li>
<li>Continuously model safe behavior and take appropriate action to address or report hazards; follow the Skier’s Responsibility Code at all times when skiing/riding at the resort.</li>

Skiers
Intermediate to advanced skiing skills with ability to ski in a comfortable, open-stance parallel (hip-width stance) on all intermediate (Blue) and less challenging, groomed expert (Black) terrain. Ability to ski beginner bumps, while maintaining rhythm and speed control preferred but not required.
Snowboarders
Intermediate to advanced snowboarding skills with ability to ride confidently on all intermediate (Blue) terrain in variable conditions. Ability to ride more challenging terrain and bumps with carved turns preferred but not required.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Builds members' and the community's understanding of the YMCA's cause and impact. Instructs group classes in a safe, enjoyable, culturally aware and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures with advocacy for diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). 
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
<ol>
<li>Builds personal and meaningful relationships with YMCA members, participants, volunteers, and guests. While exemplifying the Y's commitment to DEI and the four-character values of caring, honesty, respect &amp; responsibility and responds to all member and community inquiries in a timely manner. </li>
<li>Knows/reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies, procedures, and the safe-in-six model (Prevent, Recognize, Activate EAP, Rescue, Care, Report). </li>
<li>Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area. Maintains accurate records as required by the YMCA and/or the state Health Department code.</li>
<li>Performs equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available as needed.</li>
<li>Attends all staff meetings and in-service training. </li>
<li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li>

Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
<ol>
<li>Minimum age of 18. </li>
<li>Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid </li>
<li>Current YMCA certified Swim Instructor/trainer, YMCA Water Safety instructor/trainer. * The YMCA will assist with the above training to be a achieved within the first year of employment.</li>
<li>Ability to maintain certification-level of physical and mental readiness.</li>

Physical Demands:

<li>Hear noises and distress signals in the aquatic environment, including in the water and anywhere around the zone of responsibility. Remain alert with no lapses of consciousness. </li>
<li>Meet strength and lifting requirements. </li>
<li>Must be able to lift 60 pounds alone and may request assistance to pull victims out of the pool.</li>
<li>Must be able to vocalize instructions to bystanders in case of emergency.</li>

Keene Family YMCA is seeking part-time Lifeguards to work in their busy Aquatics Center. As a member of the Aquatics team, Lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the safety of all participants in our Aquatics Center. Additionally, Lifeguards maintain safe swimming conditions in the pool, on the deck, and in surrounding areas to create a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
 
Current American Red Cross or YMCA Lifeguard certifications, CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications are required. If you do not have the required certifications, you could be eligible to receive your certifications free of charge with one year of service at the Keene Family YMCA.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Essential Functions of the Lifeguard&nbsp;

<li>Maintains active surveillance of the pool area by continuously scanning the pool area from side to side, regularly walking around the pool area to check blind spots, steam room, and sauna.</li>
<li>Knows/reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies, procedures, and the “safe-in-six model” (Prevent, Recognize, Activate EAP, Rescue, Care, Report). Completes related reports as required.</li>
<li>Maintains effective, positive, culturally aware relationships with the members, participants and other staff.</li>
<li>Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Maintains accurate records as required by the YMCA and/or the state Health Department code.</li>
<li>Performs equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available as needed.</li>
<li>Performs chemical testing when not guarding, as required, and takes appropriate action.</li>
<li>Checks the pool for hazardous conditions when arriving and for the duration of the shift.</li>
<li>Lifeguards may be required to open or close the aquatics center.</li>
<li>Attends all staff meetings and in-service trainings.</li>
</ol>
 
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
<ol>
<li>Ability to perform duties with professionalism, enthusiasm, kindness, empathy, care, honesty, and respect.</li>
<li>Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Minimum age of 18.</li>
<li>Ability to maintain certification-level of physical and mental readiness.</li>
<li>Current YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.</li>
<li>Must demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA/ARC standards.</li>
</ol>
PREFERED LEVEL QUALIFICATIONS:

<li>Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid and Emergency Oxygen.</li>
<li>5+ years of Lifeguarding.</li>
