The Medical Direct Support Professionals responsibility is to be a community connector and will be responsible to do community mapping with the individual to promote social inclusion. The Medical DSP will explore new opportunities for individuals to whom they provide supports and will assist with growth and unity within the community. Promoting abilities not disabilities and to develop a bond between individual and community, family, friends and significant other in their lives. More importantly, to identify those assets that most likely lead to social inclusions for a specific individual whose gifts and interests have been identified.
 
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience: Experience in the human service or related field with persons experiencing disabilities desirable.
Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and proof of automobile insurance.
 
Compensation and Benefits:
There is a $1000 sign-on bonus for this position - $500 will be paid at the time of hire and $500 will be paid after 6 months in the role.
*Please note, sign-on bonuses are for new hires only. Re-hires and transfers are not eligible at this time.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

<li>Assist individuals with planned activities and community involvement.</li>
<li>Assists with G-Tubes, catheters, medication administration, oxygen use, aspiration and other medical needs.</li>
<li>Assesses pain and discomfort in non-verbal individuals.</li>
<li>Develop a relationship map to gather information about the individual in order to establish social inclusion opportunities.</li>
<li>Assist individuals in developing a network of people in their lives. Maximize opportunities for the individuals they support with disabilities to get to know others and maximize the opportunities for others to get to know the individual.</li>
<li>Assist the individual in obtaining a sense of self-esteem through active participation in the community.</li>
<li>Provide individualized type and level of support to include, but not be limited to, personal care and/or skill acquisition etc.</li>
<li>Assist individuals in establishing, maintaining, and presenting a positive image. This may involve such activities as assisting in the bathroom, bathing, showering, and dental hygiene, etc.</li>
<li>Assist in developing and individualizing the yearly Person Centered Planning by providing information for assessments and by developing implementation strategies for goals/objectives and methods for monitoring the delivery and quality of supports to the individual.</li>
<li>Complete documentation requirements as specified by the Individual Service Plan to include the scheduled data collection and monthly progress notes.</li>
<li>Assist in the orientation/training of new staff, which may include introduction to an individual's support persons and to an individual's ISP, strategies, dreams and goals, and treatment plan.</li>
<li>Distribute medication in accordance with He-m1201 as applicable.</li>
<li>Report any safety, health or human rights concern immediately to the Supervisor.</li>
<li>Understand and ensure compliance with applicable state regulations.</li>

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

Walking and standing required frequently with occasional stair climbing. Must be able to push wheelchairs and operate wheelchair lifts/Hoyer and barrier free lifts. Emergency behavioral intervention must be followed in accordance with behavioral intervention techniques and individual behavioral plans.</li>

 29-year-old male seeking a direct support professional to help him engage with the community. Services will include transportation, identifying activities of interest in the community, support to engage in these activities, and some personal care/household assistance as needed. His interests include music, playing the guitar, animals, and going to the park. 
 
20 hours a week, $18/hr.
Mileage reimbursement up to 50 miles a week.

Crotched Mountain School &amp; Village is looking for Residential Counselors to join a mission-driven team supporting children and young adults with severe neurodevelopmental disabilities. Many of our students are non-speaking and require support with challenging behaviors — but they also need safety, trust, and unwavering care. That’s where you come in!

What You'll Do:
<ul>
<li>Support students (ages 5–21) in residential settings with daily routines and activities, communication, and personal growth</li>
<li>Use a range of communication methods (AAC, visuals, gestures)</li>
<li>Implement IEP/ILP goals and behavior strategies</li>
<li>Help create a safe, structured, and supportive home environment</li>
<li>Work closely with teachers, therapists, and behavior specialists</li>
</ul>
Schedule Options – 4-Day Work Weeks
<ul>
<li>Front End: Sun 7am–10pm, Mon–Wed 2pm–10pm</li>
<li>Back End: Wed–Fri 2pm–10pm, Sat 2pm–10pm</li>
<li>Front End Overnight: Sun–Wed 9:45pm–7:15am</li>
<li>Back End Overnight: Wed–Sat 9:45pm–7:15am</li>

Qualifications:
We will train, but you must meet the following criteria to be eligible according to state, school, and federal regulations, and our quality of care standards!

<li>21+ years old</li>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent, plus ONE of the following:</li>
<li>Any college degree + 12 or more college credits in Human Services, Education, Psychology, or related field</li>
<li>2 years (3000 hours) of experience working with children</li>
<li>Parenting experience (child age 7+)</li>
<li>Combo of education + experience totaling 2 years</li>
