To plan the welding manufacturing of commercial cooking equipment by supervising man, material, and machine to ensure that product is produced efficiently, on time, within budget, and to standard. The Production Manager-Welding will set a leadership example that inspires peers and subordinates in reaching strategic goals along with professional achievement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Balance administrative responsibilities with operational needs to assure that department(s) remains current with policies, procedures, compliance standards, and personnel management expectations.
- Communicate with new employees on the importance of achieving goals while focusing on quality, and working towards balancing these priorities.
- Maintain confidentiality in all situations.
- Communicate successes and shortcomings of goals/expectations to the individual verbally and through the documented employee performance evaluation process.
- Successfully staff production cell(s) by selecting job candidates through the onboarding process, providing continuous training and development opportunities, and coaching direct reports towards expected performance up through and including a recommendation for termination as required.
- Determine and implement a plan of action to successfully meet the human capital and material resource requirements of assigned production cells.
- Maintain positive work environment by training employees and developing personal growth opportunities.
- Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action.
- Maintain ability to access quality management system and manufacturing resource planning system.
- Apply process improvement techniques to identify, analyze, and improve existing processes to meet new goals and objectives.
- Meet stakeholder expectations by executing whole production process or parts of different production systems.
- Develop and adjust a daily and weekly schedule to execute the production plan based on labor and material availability and requirements.
- Maintain safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of control points, equipment, and resources.
- Ability to travel up to 10% with possibility for international travel.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct reports: All employees within the Welding production to which s/he is assigned, including the Lead Welders.

Requirements:
Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Management preferred
- 5+ years of experience in shop floor management in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 2 years of experience in managing a production area in a Lean Manufacturing environment
- Advanced comprehension of multiple types of production including but not limited to Repetitive, Discrete, Job Shop, Process (batch), and Process (continuous).
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of database software; internet software; spreadsheet software; word processing software.
