EIT (Electronic Instrumentation & Technology) is looking for a Facilities Technician to join our team in our Salem, NH location! EIT is a Contract Manufacturer specializing in Electronic Manufacturing Services and serves customers in the sectors of Industry, Communications, Aerospace, Defense and Healthcare.
Job Description:
The position of Facilities Technician is responsible for performing intermediate-to advanced facility maintenance and repair tasks in support of a high-tech electronics assembly manufacturing facility. This role involves hands-on work in maintaining critical systems, assisting with equipment installations, troubleshooting facility issues, and supporting compliance with safety and environmental standards.
· Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs on facility systems including HVAC, compressed air, plumbing, and basic electrical systems.
· Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and building-related issues with minimal supervision.
· Coordinate with production and engineering teams to support manufacturing equipment moves, installations, and facility upgrades.
· Maintain controlled environment conditions (ESD, temperature, humidity) per industry standards.
· Monitor building automation systems (BAS) and respond to alarms or irregularities.
· Support emergency response efforts (leaks, outages, safety incidents) and document corrective actions.
· Supervise contractors and vendors during specialized maintenance or installations.
· Update and maintain CMMS records, including work orders and parts inventor.
· Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory safety standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
· High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Technical Degree, required.
· 5+ years of progressive facility maintenance experience, preferably in electronics manufacturing or a high-tech environment.
· Advanced knowledge of facility systems (HVAC, electrical, fire protection, compressed air, etc.).
· Proficiency with building automation and environmental control systems.
· Familiarity with cleanroom operation, ESD controls, and related industry standards.
· Demonstrated leadership in maintenance planning and execution.
· Strong communication and collaboration skills.
· Ability to work independently and lead technical projects.
Preferred Certifications:
· EPA 608 Universal Certification (HVAC/refrigerant handling).
· OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification.
· NFPA 70E training or equivalent electrical safety training.
· Forklift and scissor lift certification.
· CMMS software proficiency.
Working Conditions:
Normal manufacturing environment
9/80 work schedule, with every other Friday off
