About the Role:
Pine Haven Boys Center is set on just over 100 acres located 10 minutes south of Concord and 15 minutes north of Manchester.
Pine Haven is a private, non-profit, non-sectarian, intensive residential facility that cares for boys with behavioral, educational, and emotional challenges due to severe neglect and trauma.
We are looking for candidates who are interested in beginning or continuing a teaching career in the Human Services field. The ideal candidate is interested in specialized education using trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
Pine Haven is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Classroom Teacher to join our team in Allenstown, NH. This position involves working in a self-contained classroom setting, providing instruction and support to students with emotional impairments in grades 1 through 8. Our ideal candidate is patient, understanding, trauma informed, and passionate about helping students achieve their full potential academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to students’ needs.
- Create a structured and supportive classroom environment.
- Utilize behavior management techniques to foster positive student engagement.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists and support staff.
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Maintain compliance with IEP goals and state education standards.
Qualifications:
- Required: NH Teaching Certification in Special Education or Elementary Education (or eligibility for certification).
- Experience working with students with emotional impairments is preferred.
- Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills.
- Must be 21 years of age
- New Hampshire Teacher Certification (with an endorsement in General Special Education (1900), Specific Learning Disabilities (1907) and/or Emotional and Behavioral Disabilities (1855) is preferred, but will also entertain an Alt 4 certification)
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
