Resident Care Director (LPN/RN)

Qualifications
-
RN or LPN certification from an accredited college or university
-
Active and valid RN or LPN license in good standing

Management experience directing employees
-
Proficient in computer skills, including MS Office and adaptable to other software
-
Current CPR certification (or obtained during orientation)
-
Current First Aid certification (if required by the state)
Primary Job Responsibilities
Advocacy
-
Recognize and assist in preventing elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation
-
Report concerns in accordance with state regulations
-
Understand and follow all company policies, including harassment and compliance protocols
Administration and Planning
-
Plan, develop, organize, and evaluate resident care goals with staff
-
Ensure compliance with Department of Public Health (DPH) regulations
-
Create, manage, and approve Resident Care staff schedules
-
Participate in medication distribution and resident care to stay current
-
Manage resident and employee records for compliance and accuracy
Resident Care Focus
-
Coordinate care to help residents remain independent as long as possible
-
Partner with Executive Director and families to support residents’ well-being
-
Complete assessments, implement service plans, and communicate outcomes
-
Prepare for surveys and ensure follow-up on Plans of Correction
-
Communicate with physicians and health professionals as needed
-
Investigate and resolve resident and family concerns
Medication Management
-
Oversee medication program and verify Medication Administration Records (MARs)
-
Provide hands-on medication assistance as needed
-
Communicate with pharmacy providers to ensure compliance
-
Conduct audits of medication records, storage, MARs, and narcotic inventories
Supervisory Responsibilities
-
Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and supervise the resident care team
-
Serve as an approachable and effective role model for staff
-
Ensure infection control practices and training are up to date
-
Provide in-service training (e.g., safety, CPR, protocols)
-
Empower and mentor staff to expand their roles
Physical Requirements
-
Ability to lift 50 lbs. without assistance
-
Ability to bend, reach, and work in confined areas
-
Ability to push/pull equipment and furnishings
-
Ability to stand for extended periods
Additional Requirements

Strong communication skills with physicians, staff, families, and others

Ability to collect, analyze, and manage clinical and staffing data

Participate in policy development and revisions

Make independent decisions as needed

Interpret and implement department goals and procedures
