Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available to support middle and high school students in Life Skills classrooms. This contract role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by working closely with students in grades 6 through 12 who require specialized educational support.
Location: Kingston, NH
Position Type: Contract, Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Caseloads Available:
- Middle School: Grades 6-8, Life Skills Classroom
- High School: Grades 9-12, Life Skills Classroom
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students with special needs
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in Life Skills classrooms, fostering academic growth and independence
- Collaborate with general education staff, families, and related service providers to ensure comprehensive educational support
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior, adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs
- Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and social development
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with students in Life Skills or similar settings is highly desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with students, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to create and adapt lesson plans that meet a variety of learning needs and abilities
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and promoting student well-being
