Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill a Quality Engineering & Test Manager job for our direct client. In this role, you will manage a diverse group of engineers in support of Manufacturing Operations and Quality, while serving as a key interface with customer representatives. This position requires expert knowledge in system design, cable performance, network element functionality, component engineering, and manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate is either a current manager or a high-caliber engineer ready to transition into a leadership role.
Quality Engineering & Test Manager job responsibilities:
- Provide measurable input to the objectives and goals of Manufacturing Operations
- Integrate engineering theory and principles with organizational practices into daily operations
- Demonstrate ingenuity and innovation in solving complex technical and operational challenges
- Adapt to technological advances and evolving manufacturing environments
- Drive results within the department and initiate cross-functional collaboration
- Provide direction and leadership to engineering staff
- Approve test strategies and test plans
- Manage complex IT development projects
- Oversee Component Engineers and Supplier Quality initiatives
- Collect and analyze quality metrics to support continuous improvement
- Serve as the customer interface to Manufacturing Operations
- Conduct performance reviews, identify development areas, and recognize achievements
- Confer with management or subordinates to resolve workplace issues
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field with 10+ years of experience; advanced degree (MS or MBA) preferred
- Proven ability to drive teamwork across cross-functional disciplines
- Excellent communication and coaching skills at all organizational levels
- Demonstrated ability to make independent, informed decisions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles
- Strong communication, technical writing, computer, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to influence business direction and strategic initiatives
