The Project Engineer will support, maintain, and facilitate the profitability and schedules of projects under construction and jobs to bid, and provide assistance to the Superintendents and Project Managers by facilitating the successful execution of the project. This position reports to the Project Manager and is not responsible for the oversight of other teammates. This is a full-time, salaried-exempt position.
Your Role
- Interpret contract drawings, specifications, and submittals
- All other duties as needed and assigned by management
- Research and recommend solutions to drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences, safety, budget, schedule, technical conflicts, quality control issues, and client and teammate satisfaction, along with input by the project management team
- Project, encourage and monitor actions of self and team to ensure a positive image on behalf of Methuen Construction
- Shop drawing review
- Resolve design conflicts with AE/Owner
- Develop submittal and change orders
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and distributor prices
- Purchase permanent project materials
- Control of document distribution
- Log PO's, subcontracts, insurance certificates and correspondence
- Track fabrication and delivery of product and equipment
- Keep accurate notes, records, sketches, daily reports, field books, and sketches to describe and verify the planned work as well as the completed work that they will incorporate in the project's record documents
- Follow all Company Policies/Procedures regarding security, discrimination & harassment-free environment, compliance to Code of Ethics, Business Conduct
Your Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or other related degrees
- Experience with water/wastewater treatment and/or heavy industrial systems
- Experience with project planning and scheduling, contracts, and project controls and procedures
- Experience with contract compliance and construction quality
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Prompt and accurate judgment abilities a must
- Excellent time management skills are essential
- Skill in the use of Windows based personal computers in application of Microsoft Office Professional
- Personal commitment to team environment, safety, customer satisfaction and quality control

Work Environment/Physical Demands
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, and safely maneuver around the nearby presence of various construction equipment and vehicles, on an active construction site
- Prepared to regularly encounter moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and a variety of outside weather conditions
- Able to climb temporary or permanent stairs, and ladders
- Able to bend, squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, balance, and stoop, reach on a regular basis
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Pay range: $70,000 - $130,000 annually
