Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for a dedicated special education teacher to serve K-12 students in a virtual contract role based in Claremont, NH, through June 12, 2026 (tentative). The position offers up to 37.5 hours per week supporting students within a structured online learning environment aligned with New Hampshire state requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Writing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) using NHSEIS, the states data system for case management and evaluations
- Collaborating virtually with teachers, parents, and service providers across platforms such as Canvas and Zoom
- Utilizing data tools and behavior-tracking systems like Panorama to monitor student progress
- Ensuring compliance with NH special education laws and federal regulations (IDEA) in a virtual delivery context
- Applying knowledge of individual differences to support behavioral and affective disorders among students
- Providing positive behavioral interventions in both group and individual settings
- Preparing detailed reports based on observations of student learning behaviors
- Collaborating effectively with administrators, colleagues, families, and community members to support student success
Qualifications:
- Must possess New Hampshire state certification for special education
- Prior experience as a virtual case manager or special education teacher in New Hampshire is required
- Strong understanding of NH special education law and virtual learning environments
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in English
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a virtual setting
