Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time position is available for a Special Education Teacher dedicated to supporting high school students with academic needs. This role focuses on students in grades 9 through 12 within a charter school setting, providing specialized instructional support in a school environment located in Kingston, NH.
Location: Kingston, NH
Position Type: Contract, Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)
Student Caseload: High School (Grades 9-12)
Focus: Academic support only, no behavioral responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction aligned with students academic goals and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and administration to ensure students academic progress and success.
- Monitor and document student performance, adapting instructional methods as needed to meet diverse learning styles.
- Participate in team meetings and communicate effectively with families regarding student progress.
- Ensure compliance with special education regulations and school policies.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification in Special Education
- Experience working with high school students (grades 9-12)
- Ability to tailor instructional strategies to diverse academic needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of special education laws and best practices
