Position Type: Part-time, adjunct
Semester: Fall 2025 (August 25-December 13, 2025)
Compensation: $825 - $975 per credit, based on adjunct faculty rank (determined by education and experience)
Position Overview:
NHTI is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach one or more biology courses, including BIOL 111C: General Biology I, BIOL 112C: General Biology II, BIOL 195C: Anatomy & Physiology I, BIOL 196C: Anatomy & Physiology II, BIOL 159C: Personal Nutrition, BIOL 260C: Cell Biology, and BIOL 111C General Biology I.
Course Details:
- BIOL 111C General Biology I, Mondays and Wednesdays 11-2:50 p.m., on campus at NHTI Campus, Concord, NH
- BIOL 112C General Biology II, Mondays and Wednesdays 12:30-1:50 p.m. & Fridays 1-2:50 p.m., on campus at NHTI Campus, Concord, NH
- BIOL 260C Cell Biology. Wednesdays 2-4:50 p.m. and Fridays 8-10:50 a.m., on campus at NHTI Campus, Concord, NH
- Other courses and times are available.
Program Description:
NHTI's Natural Sciences Department hosts a biology degree program that provides students with an excellent foundation for studies in pre-medicine, pre-dentistry, and pre-veterinary medicine. This program provides a broad-based curriculum in the biological sciences and helps students to meet the requirements for other degree programs, including the pursuit of a four-year degree. The core courses in this program offer the basic competencies, knowledge, and skills to do so. It also prepares students for careers in biological science; provides the skills, methods, and knowledge needed for further study; and promotes an appreciation of the sciences. In addition to the biology degree, NHTI offers an environmental sciences degree, and the college’s biology courses fulfill requirements for students entering our Allied Health programs and for required science electives in multiple programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach the assigned course using provided curriculum and instructional materials aligned with program standards.
- Facilitate class discussions, assignments, and assessments to foster student engagement and learning.
- Provide regular feedback and maintain accurate records of student progress.
- Maintain professional currency in the field and comply with college policies and standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree in science (or a minimum of 12 graduate-level credits) required.
- Experience: Prior teaching experience and familiarity with Canvas (or similar LMS) preferred.
- Residency: Must reside in NH, VT, ME, MA, RI, or CT.
