Cummings Printing is seeking a mechanically-inclined Bindery Helper to join our team in Hooksett, NH, for our 1st shift operations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist bindery operators with:
- Saddle stitching, perfect binding, trimming, folding, collating, and packing
- Load, unload, and stage printed materials and signatures
- Feed materials into bindery equipment under operator supervision
- Stack, bundle, strap, and palletize finished products accurately
- Perform basic quality checks to ensure:
- Correct page order
- Proper trimming and alignment
- Clean, secure binding
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards
- Assist with job changeovers and cleanup between runs
- Follow all safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
- Communicate issues or defects immediately to the Lead Operator or Manager
- Support on-time job completion by maintaining an efficient workflow
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Strong mechanical knowledge and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and quality-oriented mindset.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without assistance
- Willingness to learn bindery equipment and processes
- Dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious
Work Schedule:
- 8-hour shifts, 7:30am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday
