Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This full-time Special Education Teacher position offers an impactful opportunity to support K-12 students with disabilities within a virtual learning environment in Claremont, NH. The role requires expertise in case managing and delivering individualized instruction aligned to IEPs while navigating relevant state procedures and virtual collaboration platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write, implement, and monitor IEPs using NHSEIS, the states special education data system
- Collaborate remotely with educators, parents, and service providers via platforms such as Canvas and Zoom as used in the districts iLearnNH system
- Utilize data tools and behavior-tracking software like Panorama to assess student progress and behavioral outcomes
- Apply deep understanding of NH special education laws (IDEA and state regulations) and ensure compliance, particularly as it pertains to virtual delivery
- Provide positive behavioral supports tailored to individual student needs in both group and one-on-one settings
- Conduct observations, prepare detailed reports on student learning and behaviors, and communicate these effectively to all stakeholders
- Work collaboratively with school administrators, central office personnel, colleagues, families, and community members to create a supportive learning environment
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Must hold valid NH state certification in special education and meet all certification requirements
- Previous experience managing special education cases virtually in New Hampshire schools is required
- Strong knowledge of behavioral and affective disorder interventions
- Proficient communication skills (written and verbal) in English for effective interpersonal interactions
- Ability to thoughtfully apply knowledge of individual differences in ability and motivation to instruction and supports
Location & Duration:
- Position located in Claremont, NH
- Contract duration: ASAP through June 12, 2026 (tentative)
- Up to 37.5 hours per week
