Working as an integral member of the Information Technology (IT) Department, the IT Network and Systems Manager primary responsibility is addressing user concerns and technology systems and network concerns in the areas of, compliance, operations, security and disaster recovery. Supervisor for the positions responsible for user support associated with IT Network Systems and IT Security. Attend planning sessions, provide accurate information and recommendations in areas consistent with position responsibilities. All Duties and Responsibilities identified or assigned by supervisor performed in accordance with CLM (Center for Life Management) and ITS (Information and Technology Services) departmental policies and procedures. Represent CLM in a professional and appropriate manner in all settings. This is a full time, 40 hour per week position and is considered exempt in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FSLA).


Major Functional Areas of Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supervision of IT positions: User and Network Systems position and the IT Support User Security position. Support ITS staff in completion of their duties and provide coverage to address essential departmental responsibilities. Provide positive timely and appropriate assistance to staff working with CLM ITS tools and resources. Provide exceptional user-support, and escalate requests to the IT Development Manager. Coordinate services provided by vendor supports toward management of network system operations and security related duties. Enforce policy (e.g. report and remove unapproved applications, track and install software updates and patches).
  • Supervise and complete Network and System Operation tasks setup, testing, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting and ongoing improvement of local and remote technology resources, applications and network operations. Configure, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain agency VOIP phone systems, ensure appropriate operation, messaging, use, and documentation, support, and coordinate approved position related vendor work.
  • Supervise and complete User access management tasks; provide and manage secure passwords, secure folders for users/groups, establish/maintain controls to prevent unauthorized access, implement approved measures to increase data security, track and install security patches, monitor, manage, and report security issues. Maintain anti-theft processes/systems.
  • Supervise and complete tasks to maintain up to date virus protection software/virus definitions, report and log instances of activity that increase risk to resources/systems, implement approved options to decrease virus risk.
  • Supervise and complete tasks to maintain and monitor backup software, hardware, and media to ensure successful backup of user data, database systems, server and application files and images. Test and confirm backup and failover systems for hardware and applications and related recovery processes. Coordinate vendor supports used for realizing disaster recovery related responsibilities.
  • Supervise and complete tasks to setup systems (pc, laptop, other devices) and application software consistent with policy. Maintain network security related to device and application management and network concerns. Management of Microsoft 365 cloud -based services; email, office-based applications, and skype. Monitor, troubleshoot and maintain LAN/WAN performance (e.g. wireless system operations). Setup and management of Microsoft SharePoint-based resources.
  • Supervise and complete tasks to ensure security; identification, monitoring and management of risks. Identification, monitoring and implementation of risk mitigation strategies. Monitoring for, documenting and management of network and systems associated security incidents. Assist with management of VPN associated hardware and software to maintain secure operations.
  • Supervise and complete tasks to monitor expenses that fall within position purview and notify supervisor of cost/savings issues. Collaborative involvement in departmental planning and operations.
  • Network and System Projects Lead: responsibilities include primary IS contact on identified projects, planning, monitoring and keeping supervisor informed of status, making modifications as needed, project documentation, and realizing objectives within defined timelines. Coordinate vendors/supports associated with position associated projects or operations.
  • Track, document and ensure compliance with position associated requirements (e.g. licensing). Maintain software library and hardware asset documentation (i.e. all agency software and hardware full life-cycle). Maintain hardware/network/application and process documentation.

The Center for Life Management has partnered with New England College to offer a Master’s Degree! This is an exciting opportunity for CLM staff to earn a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (MS) degree in 3 years.

Who’s Eligible and What’s Required:

  • Must be a regular, full-time CLM employee in good standing for 9 months or more.
  • Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Must agree to a five (5) year commitment of full-time employment in good standing with the Center for Life Management (beginning from start date/year of Professional Development Program participation).
  • Participants must maintain a B average to continue participation in the program.

Requirements:

  • College and/or specialized training in information technology, experience in information technology, security, network and systems administration.
  • Proficient with hardware, operating systems (Microsoft and iOS), applications, and networks.
  • Expertise in cloud-based services for security applications, VOIP phone systems and Microsoft products (e.g. Office 365, SharePoint).
  • Preference provided to those with project management experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively communicate, both orally and written, technical information to others.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to manage competing projects while adhering to deadlines.
  • Ability and desire to work as part of a team while also able to be self-directed and motivated in work.
  • Ability to acquire and effectively execute new skills as needed according to evolving department needs.
