Safran Aerospace Composites is dedicated to the production of 3D woven composite parts, made using the RTM (resin transfer molding) process. The first application of this technology is the production of blades and fan cases for the LEAP engine, developed by CFM International, designed to power the next generation of single-aisle aircraft: therefore, we make our employees proud. This position will be a key member of the Engineering Team. Through your direct management, you will support and guide the team of Manufacturing Engineers in charge of improving the manufacturing process and manufacturing line efficiency. This position will act as a key customer interface responsible for coordination of technical issues, scheduling, quality, and change management.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage the daily activities of the team of Manufacturing Engineers. Use your experience to guide and mentor the team, perform annual and mid-year performance reviews, and develop the team through competency management.
- Build, manage and enact a skills management and training program for the Process Engineers.
- Customer interface and technical coordination; regularly communicate with all levels in the customer organization to manage technical definition, work scope, progress status and schedule.
- Interface with Quality, Production and Product teams and their management to ensure coordination of all Projects lead by Manufacturing Engineers in order to meet the company goals.
- Review project plans and proposals while working with management to develop project objectives.
- Ensure On Time Delivery of Project lead by self or the Process Engineers in charge.
- Interface with customer to facilitate achievement of identified milestones to maintain schedule.
- Determine project responsibilities by identifying project phases and identifying key resources.
- Prepare and help prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Accountable for decisions related to all program topics (development, manufacturing, business) and makes certain they are implemented to meet program objectives (flight safety, customer satisfaction, schedule, quality, and profitability)
- Participate in the development of program financial plans in support of the budget.
- Lead and support process improvement and cost reduction projects
The successful candidate will be self-started with strong attention to detail. A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant technical degree with manufacturing experience is required. Experience managing a cross-functional team is strongly preferred. Understanding of LEAN manufacturing concepts and/or 6 Sigma techniques is preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. Project Management experience preferred.
