Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Special Education teaching opportunity is available in Kingston, NH, serving middle and high school students in a Life Skills classroom setting. This role is a contract position aligned with the current school year schedule, offering 37.5 hours per week.
Located within the SAU 17 district, the position requires dedication to supporting students with varied special education needs. The caseload includes:
- Middle School (Grades 6-8) Life Skills Classroom
- High School (Grades 9-12) Life Skills Classroom
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
- Deliver instruction and support in Life Skills curriculum.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and school staff to promote student progress.
- Monitor and document student growth, adjusting strategies as necessary.
- Maintain a safe, supportive classroom environment conducive to learning and development.
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification in Special Education
- Experience working with Life Skills students at middle or high school levels
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction effectively to meet diverse needs
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive educational environment
