Essential Functions

Job Description
This position is responsible for performing failure analysis on I/L shorts and opens from ET and customer returns. 
Duties/Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Gathering scrap boards with inner layer shorts and opens for evaluation and analysis</li>
<li>Analyzing and mapping out of defects to determine the location and cause of electrical failures</li>
<li>Preparation and evaluation of cross-sections including using routers, wet saws, and grinding wheels</li>
<li>Maintain documentation such as failure analysis packages, I/L scrap charts, and customer report reports</li>
<li>Presenting failure analysis results to management</li>
<li>Assist and support engineers on process improvement and troubleshooting work</li>
<li>Operating SEM/EDX (Scanning Electron Microscope)</li>
<li>Participate in TQM activity to support layer work center process improvements</li>
<li>Maintain a positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers and management.</li>
<li>This position may require overtime for coverage on alternate shifts and weekends.</li>
<li>Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.</li>
</ul>
Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li>
<li>Knowledge of PCB construction and manufacturing techniques.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Must have excellent communication skills and have the ability/flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment.</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li>
<li>Familiarity or experience with customer specifications/requirements.</li>
<li>Must be a self-starter who is capable of taking a project from concept to completion.</li>
<li>Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime (weekdays and weekends) when needed.</li>
<li>Proficient computer experience a plus - Microsoft Office-Outlook/Word/Excel.</li>
<li>AOI, ET, Dry Lab experience preferable.</li>
<li>Hand and eye dexterity to perform cross section preparations, (e.g., saw cutting and grinding).</li>
<li>Ability to use a Microscope required.</li>
<li>Past participation on QITs or leading teams a plus.</li>
