Location: Newport, NH (onsite)
Schedule: 8am-4:30pm | Frequent Travel (~1 week/month, domestic)
Compensation: $90,000 – $100,000
We’re seeking a Director of Business Development to help drive growth and strengthen relationships within the precision manufacturing industry. This role was created in anticipation of an upcoming retirement, making it a unique chance to step into a leadership track with a clear succession plan.
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships within precision machining and manufacturing sectors.
- Partner with customers to understand technical requirements and translate them into actionable solutions.
- Travel in-state and out-of-state (~1 week per month) to meet with clients, attend industry events, and expand business opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams (engineering, operations, quality) to deliver high-value solutions.
- Support strategic planning efforts and contribute to growth initiatives.
- Lead customer meetings, presentations, and technical discussions with professionalism and clarity.
- Stay up to date on ITAR, NIST, AS9100, and related certifications to ensure compliance and credibility.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or marketing (precision manufacturing background required).
- Strong understanding of metal machining, CNC processes, and precision manufacturing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts clearly.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with ITAR, NIST, and government certifications; AS9100 exposure a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong research/technical documentation skills.
- Professional appearance, polished phone presence, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly (local and overnight).
