Located in the Capital City of New Hampshire and set in an environment of sophistication and comfort, the Grappone Conference Center is the ideal destination for any occasion. Adjacent to the Courtyard by Marriott, we’re conveniently located just off Interstate 93 in Concord, NH. The Grappone Conference Center has the largest ballroom and function space in the Concord area.
The Bartender is responsible for preparing alcoholic drinks for patrons. The Bartender will take drink orders, collect money, serve drinks and in some cases serve food. The Bartender will work in a professional and efficient manner, thereby enhancing a positive guest experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide professional and courteous guest service at all times
- Take accurate orders
- Must know standard drink recipes and be able to mix them quickly and accurately
- Arrange bottles and barware, wash glasses and clean bar
- Keep track of wines, beers, liquors and other supplies
- Total bill and accept payment
- Complete appropriate side work
- Break down bar and remove trash
- Maintain clean, neat, stocked and safe work and storage area
- Maintain liquor training certification
- Review and understand written house policies for serving alcohol
- Remain in compliance to all NH State Liquor Laws
- Ability to work well with a diverse group of people
Lounge Bartender:
- Attend to the needs of the guests of the hotel bar and cocktail lounge, including the patio area
- Take drink orders, collect money, serve drinks
- Serve food to lounge guests, as well as run room service orders
Onsite Banquet Bartender:
- Assist in setup, cleaning, clearing and refreshing of the function rooms
Offsite Catering Bartender:
- Assemble glassware, serving utensils, barware, beer, wine, liquor needed for function
- Assist with loading and unloading catering vehicle
Additional Duties
- Attend department meetings
- Complete projects as determined by management
- Actively seeks out other tasks when current work is complete
- Participate in ongoing education and training
- Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
- Education or Experience- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related bartending experience and/ or training; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid Driver’s License – Must be able to travel to and from function sites. Must have a valid NH driver’s license and a favorable driving record to operate company vehicle.
- Language Skills- Must have developed language skills to the point to be able to: ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak professionally and effectively to customers, management and associates.
- Mathematical Skills- Requires mathematical development sufficient to be able to: add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units or measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute ratio, rate and percent. Possesses sharp ability for attention to detail (able to quickly identify variances in standards), working efficiently and flexibly. Ability to multi-task and be highly organized while working under pressure.
- Reasoning Ability- Must have developed reasoning skills to be able to solve practical problems and deal with various situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral and diagram form. Ability to professionally deal with underage minors and unauthorized alcohol on company property.

Physical Requirements
- Non-slip shoes are recommended
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug test, background check and driver record check
- Possession of valid Driver’s license
- Requires walking, sitting and standing to a significant degree, reaching, handling, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, talking, hearing, seeing and smelling
- Lifting up to 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying or transporting of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. May include lifting or moving: food trays, beverage bars on wheels, cases of beer, soda or other beverages, coolers and glassware racks
- Outside environmental conditions such as wind, rain, cold, snow, extreme heat, etc.
- Inside environmental conditions protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from noise.
- Noise: Sufficient noise such as music, either constant or intermittent, to cause marked distraction or possible injury to the sense of hearing if endured day after day
- Temperature Changes: Variations in temperature, which are sufficiently high or low to cause marked bodily discomfort including exterior cold, heat, humid and wet conditions
