Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A middle school is seeking a licensed RN or LPN with specific skills in school nursing and experience in managing Type I Diabetes to provide dedicated support for a 1:1 male student with diabetes. This contract position runs from the start of the current school year through June 15, 2026, and requires working under an RN's supervision for LPNs. The role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a student's health and educational experience.
Location:
- Middle school in Derry, NH
- Bus riding required, starting approximately 6:30 AM and ending around 2:30 PM, with some variation due to early release days
Responsibilities:
- Provide health care and diabetes management to a 1:1 middle school student
- Administer nursing care under RN supervision (for LPNs)
- Accompany student during bus rides to and from school
- Collaborate with school staff to support the student's health and safety
- Monitor and document the students condition and communicate with family and medical professionals as needed
Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed RN or LPN in New Hampshire
- Experience in school nursing preferred
- LPN candidates must have clinical training and experience working with Type I Diabetes
- Ability to work the full school day plus bus riding hours (approximately 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
