Position Summary
Mascenic Regional School District is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to provide direct and consultative behavioral support across three school sites. This full-time, on-site position is essential to the development and implementation of effective behavior intervention plans, staff training, and systems-level support for students in grades K8.
The successful candidate will work closely with educators, school psychologists, counselors, paraprofessionals, and families to foster supportive, structured, and inclusive learning environments. New graduates who have completed their BCBA certification are encouraged to apply, as the district offers strong mentorship and team-based collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Student-Centered Behavior Support

Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) to identify the root causes of challenging behaviors

Design and implement individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) that are evidence-based and aligned with student IEPs and 504 Plans
-
Monitor and analyze student progress using data collection and behavioral metrics, adjusting plans as needed

Collaborate with IEP teams and student support staff to ensure consistency in behavior supports across settings
Staff Collaboration and Training

Train and support classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service staff in implementing proactive and positive behavior strategies

Provide modeling, coaching, and feedback to staff on de-escalation, reinforcement systems, data collection, and behavior plan fidelity

Promote the use of trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and inclusive practices in classroom behavior management
Systems-Level Support

Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of school-wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

Participate in multidisciplinary problem-solving and MTSS teams to address academic and behavioral concerns

Work collaboratively with district leadership to support safe and inclusive school climates

Contribute to crisis prevention and intervention planning, including risk assessment and re-entry support following behavior-related incidents
Documentation and Compliance

Maintain timely and accurate records related to assessments, interventions, parent communication, and compliance with IDEA and Section 504

Assist in preparing behavior-related documentation for IEPs and participate in special education evaluations and meetings as appropriate

Stay up to date with best practices in applied behavior analysis (ABA) and changes in state or federal education regulations
Required Qualifications

Masters degree or higher in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Psychology, or related field

Current BCBA certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)

Eligible for or possession of New Hampshire Department of Education endorsement as a Behavior Analyst or equivalent certification

Strong understanding of behavioral principles, data collection, and evidence-based intervention strategies

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a team-oriented approach to collaboration

Ability to travel between multiple school buildings within the district as needed
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience working with students in public school settings, particularly in elementary and middle grades (K8)

Familiarity with the development of FBAs and BIPs under special education guidelines
-
Experience with school-wide behavior systems such as PBIS or MTSS
-
Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and supports for students with emotional or behavioral disorders
-
Comfortable training and coaching educators and support staff in ABA-based strategies
