Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Sign Language Interpreter opportunity is available supporting K-12 students in a public school setting. This contract position runs from ASAP through June 19, 2026, offering a 35-hour workweek, Monday through Friday. The role is onsite in Derry, NH, serving a diverse caseload across varying ages and classrooms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide interpreting services for K-12 students, facilitating communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their peers, teachers, and staff
- Support educational access and inclusion through effective and accurate sign language interpretation
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure student needs are met
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional and ethical standards within the educational environment
Qualifications:
- Active Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) license required
- National certification strongly preferred; however, a minimum of EIPA score 3.8 with written EIPA documentation is acceptable
- Proven experience working in educational settings with K-12 populations preferred
- Availability for onsite work only, with flexibility to support various classrooms and ages
