Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with at least two years of acute care OR experience and an active NH or compact license.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the hospital Operating Room department
  • 10-hour day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., four shifts per week
  • On-call is required during assignment
  • Must be able to circulate all specialties including Ortho, Urology, Vascular, General, Trauma, ENT, OB/GYN, Plastics, Podiatry, GI, Ortho-Spine, Neuro, Thoracic, and Robotics
  • Expected to float within the OR and may be asked to float to other hospital sites as needed
  • Uses Cerner EMR; prior experience preferred but not required
  • Required to work at least two out of three major holidays
  • Candidates must be energetic, self-sufficient, and able to adapt quickly with minimal orientation
  • Travelers may be requested to float to other local hospital sites within the system
  • Weekly orientation is provided
  • RTO (requested time off) must be included at time of application
  • Three professional references from leadership may be required upon commitment
  • Dress code and scrub requirements will be communicated during onboarding
  • Local candidates are accepted with local rates applied if residing within a 50-mile radius

  • Active NH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration; temporary licenses not accepted
  • Minimum two years of recent acute care OR experience required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Preferred certification: PALS
  • Ability to provide two recent professional references from nursing leadership
  • Submission of a completed skills checklist matching specialty required
  • Must provide a driver's license with an address that matches current demographics
  • Perm staff can return as travelers after a 12-month break in service
  • Will not consider first-time travelers
