ABOUT THIS FAMILY CENTER ASSISTANT DIRECTOR JOB
The Assistant Director will work a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. No weekends required. This is a full-time, onsite role where your leadership will directly support our families, staff, and center operations.
As an Assistant Director, you'll take the lead in ensuring The Nest runs smoothly and efficiently. You'll begin by reviewing messages across our communication systems - voicemails, emails, and our parent-teacher app - responding to family needs and following up on outstanding items. You'll support staff by organizing the classroom environment, guiding curriculum execution, and stepping into the classroom when needed to meet state childcare ratios. You'll help oversee bookings, enrollments, and scheduling, while also managing child documentation, attendance, immunization records, and safety compliance. Whether you're leading a parent tour, placing lunch orders, preparing daily class sheets, or helping a teacher address a student need - you'll do it all with a smile and an eye for detail.
Would you excel in this position? Here's what you need:
- Must be at least Associate Teacher qualified in accordance with New Hampshire state guidelines
- 1+ year(s) of experience working in a leadership childcare role OR managing a team in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lead a team of peers with professionalism and support, as well as multitask effectively while managing both administrative and operational tasks
- Familiarity with state childcare licensing requirements
- Proficiency with software, systems, and digital communication tools
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Calm, friendly, and professional demeanor in a dynamic environment
