A school nursing role is available in Portsmouth, NH, serving a middle school setting with a contracted duration through the current school year. This position requires either a Registered Nurse (RN) or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with specific diabetes care experience. The nurse will provide 1:1 support to a male middle school student with Type I Diabetes, ensuring his health and safety during school hours and bus transportation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver skilled nursing care and support to a student with Type I Diabetes
- Administer care while collaborating with a supervising RN (required for LPN candidates)
- Accompany and care for the student during bus transportation to and from school
- Monitor and manage diabetes-related needs throughout the school day
- Communicate effectively with school staff and caregivers to coordinate care
Qualifications:
- Valid New Hampshire RN or LPN license
- LPN candidates must have training and practical experience managing Type I Diabetes and are required to work under RN supervision
- Prior school nursing experience preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to work full-time Monday through Friday, approximately 6:30 am to 2:30 pm, including bus riding time
- Commitment through June 15, 2026, with the ability to start as soon as possible
