Job DescriptionThe Service Writer is a customer-facing position, and as the first point of contact, utilizing top notch customer service skills, to oversee the processing and managing of all customer needs in the repair and service of customer vehicles.
This is a full-time position, (40) hours per week between the hours of 7AM to 5PM Monday-Friday. Compensation is based on experience, and ranges from $25/HR to $30/HR.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answer all service phone calls and email inquiries.
- Schedule and manage customer service orders using intake sheet and tablet.
- Provide email description of repairs and authorization with customer drop off.
- Complete vehicle walk-around and work with shop manager for work flow and timing.
- Provide customers with estimates and timeline with updates once vehicle has been viewed.
- Ensure technicians have proper service order with updates once the customer approves the estimate and work order.
- Work with the Parts Department to obtain or order parts needed.
- Complete all the notes and details in the system once the work order has been completed.
- Contact the customer once work order is completed with any updates in work done and pricing.
- Order parts as needed to maintain inventory.
- Complete additional duties as necessary such as weekly part count, core returns, special orders, and keeping office area clean and organized.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Top customer service skills.
- Project management skills.
- Time management and scheduling skills.
- Microsoft office knowledge.
- Knowledge of CRM's such as FullBay is helpful.
- Knowledge of automotive and diesel service.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior Service Writer experience with diesel engines preferred.
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Diesel Technology, technical diploma, or certificate programs are helpful.
