Chamberlain is looking for an experienced Customer Service Account Manager to independently manage the customer experience in a courteous, friendly, prompt, and helpful manner. As primary point of customer contact, this position will facilitate quoting and all matters relating to accurate and timely order processing, manage product delivery and order support, track inventory levels and component-to-finished good progress through manufacturing, and communicate and advocate for customer needs ensuring customer requirements are met.

Position Responsibilities

  • Work with Production, Quality Control and Company Management to obtain information needed to facilitate quoting and accurate processing of customer orders.
  • Independently make judgement calls balancing the best interests of both the customer and the Company.
  • Enter orders and instructions into the ERP system with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Monitor status in the ERP system throughout order fulfillment and actively coordinate with the manufacturing team to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Schedule and prepare products and paperwork for product shipments, both domestic and international.
  • Maintain communication with customers throughout the entire process from initial contact, order entry, shipment and billing.
  • Research order status in response to customer inquiries, verify all aspects of the items ordered and modify orders as needed.
  • Provide accurate, prompt, courteous, and professional service that instills customer confidence.
  • Resolve customer complaints decisively; defuse tense situations.
  • Utilize customer feedback to identify problem areas and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain business transactions and electronic records in an effective and organized manner.
  • Work with management to establish and execute strategy for customer relations and policies.
  • Adhere to Company's code of ethics and best practices and operate in compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years demonstrated customer service experience, preferable in a manufacturing business environment.
  • Technical ability to understand custom-engineered product lines and how these products are used in customer applications.
  • Excellent communication and data entry skills.
  • Detail oriented, flexible, pro-active, highly motivated, team player.
  • Ability to work well cross functionally with all levels of customers and internal departments.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to handle high volume of daily transactions with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively in fast paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain a friendly, positive demeanor and build customer rapport.
  • Strong general office skills including applications such as MS Office and ability to become proficient in new software platforms.

Work Environment

Approximately 90% of the time in a standard office environment, and 10% in a manufacturing shop floor environment. While on the shop floor, will be exposed to excessive noise and hazards associated with working around moving machinery. May also be exposed to airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, metal chips and shavings, oils and cutting fluids. All areas are climate-controlled and protected by iWAVE air purification measures.

Safety glasses and hearing protection required when on the manufacturing floor. The use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) may occasionally be required.

Expected Hours of Work

Flexible work schedule Monday-Friday between the hours of 7:00am and 6:00pm, with a general target of 45 hours per week.
