Job DescriptionWe are looking for a dedicated Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team in Somersworth, New Hampshire. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers an opportunity to manage essential financial operations and contribute to the smooth functioning of our organization. The ideal candidate will excel in handling day-to-day accounting tasks and demonstrate expertise in maintaining accurate financial records.
Responsibilities:
• Record daily operational entries into the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and proper account postings.
• Perform journal entries, managing debits and credits across multiple accounts.
• Assist with utility billing spreadsheets and update monthly management fee worksheets.
• Reconcile bank accounts and ensure timely closings with the fee accountant.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes effectively.
• Handle financial activities for multiple trial balances and managed properties.
• Collaborate on HUD subsidy-related accounting tasks with precision and attention to detail.
• Ensure all linked accounts are properly maintained when writing checks.
• Support payroll processes by preparing and backing up timesheets.• Proven experience in bookkeeping, including general ledger entries and journal adjustments.
• Proficiency in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
• Skilled in bank reconciliations and financial closings.
• Familiarity with financial software and Microsoft Excel, including spreadsheet management.
• Ability to manage multiple bank accounts and trial balances simultaneously.
• Knowledge of HUD subsidy accounting and related procedures is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
