A nursing opportunity is available working in a specialized step-down unit focusing on cardiac and medical surgical telemetry patients. This contract position offers the chance to utilize advanced clinical skills in a dynamic hospital environment with a patient ratio of 5:1 and a seasoned multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional nursing care to patients in a Cardiac Medical Step-down Unit, including those with complex cardiac conditions and medical-surgical telemetry needs
- Monitor patients requiring specialized treatments such as thoracentesis, peritoneal dialysis, tracheostomies, and pacemaker management
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to manage chest pain, CHF, COPD, stroke overflow, and critical post-cardiac catheterization care using radial artery access
- Utilize advanced equipment including IV pumps, high-flow oxygen delivery systems, BiPAP, and Kangaroo pumps effectively
- Document patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse and participate in bedside shift rounds to enhance patient experience
- Adhere to professional dress code and unit-specific policies while promoting a safe and therapeutic environment
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid RN licensure with proven expertise in telemetry nursing
- Certification in ASLS and BLS required
- Advanced skills in cardiac management, including familiarity with procedures such as thoracentesis, PD, tracheostomy care, pacemaker support, and cardiac catheterization protocols
- Ability to function independently within a multidisciplinary team and manage a 5:1 patient ratio
- Comfortable working 12-hour shifts with an every-other-weekend schedule or a 4-week shift rotation
Schedule:
- Three 12-hour shifts per week with every other weekend on call or the option for a 4-week shift cycle
