Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position with advanced telemetry experience and night shift requirements.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Work in the Medical/Surgical Float Pool in a hospital setting
- Provides care to a diverse adult patient population with a range of acuity levels
- Frequent use of advanced telemetry monitoring and medication drips including Cardizem, insulin (for hyperglycemia), and phenobarbital
- 12-hour night shifts (7:00pm to 7:00am) with every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- May be requested to float within the facility
- Weekly orientation is provided
- Previous permanent staff may return as travelers after a 12-month break in service
- First-time travelers with strong acute care experience will be considered
- Local candidates are accepted at a local rate if residing within a 50-mile radius
- Requested time off must be included at time of consideration
\n \n Requirements\n
- Active NH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration (no temporary licenses accepted)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in the specialty
- Advanced telemetry experience required
- Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
- Ability to administer Cardizem, insulin drips (for hyperglycemia), and phenobarbital on telemetry
- Three professional references required, including two from leadership
