We are looking for a dedicated Patient Access Specialist to join our team in Nashua, New Hampshire. This Contract to permanent position focuses on ensuring seamless patient admissions and delivering exceptional service while adhering to organizational policies and regulatory standards. As part of the healthcare industry, this role plays a vital part in supporting patients and maintaining efficient processes.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately assign medical record numbers (MRNs) and verify medical necessity to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Deliver clear instructions to patients, collect insurance details, and process physician orders while maintaining a high level of customer service.
• Meet point-of-service collection targets and pre-register patient accounts by gathering demographic, insurance, and financial information through inbound and outbound calls.
• Explain and obtain signatures for consent and treatment forms, ensuring patients understand their rights and responsibilities.
• Verify insurance eligibility and input benefit data to support billing processes and enhance claims accuracy.
• Utilize software tools to identify potential non-payment issues for Medicare patients, distribute required forms, and provide necessary documentation.
• Conduct audits on patient accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with quality standards, offering feedback to leadership as needed.
• Maintain a compassionate and detail-oriented approach in all patient interactions, aligning with organizational goals and customer service expectations.
• Provide patient education materials and ensure all required documentation is completed promptly and correctly.
• Proven experience in customer service, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with collections processes and financial discussions with patients.
• Proficient data entry skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong administrative background with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, guardians, and healthcare professionals.
• Knowledge of insurance verification processes and medical necessity compliance.
• Ability to use auditing tools and software to ensure account accuracy.
• Demonstrated ability to work compassionately and professionally in a fast-paced environment.
